Memberships allow yogis to book classes within a certain timeframe. But what's the difference between regular and recurring memberships and when should you offer recurring memberships?
Memberships
A regular membership expires after the indicated timeframe has passed. Memberships are used for unlimited programs for a definite period of time. This can be a month, 3 months, 6 months, or basically any temporary period of time you prefer. Yogis pay the rate for the entire membership in advance in one go.
Recurring memberships
Recurring memberships are renewed automatically every month. Recurring memberships are used for unlimited programs for an indefinite period of time. Yogis pay a monthly rate for a recurring membership. Recurring memberships work with autopay and deactivate only if the yogi has insufficient funds and the next monthly payment has been rejected. If this happens, you need to recollect the payment from the Orders and Payments overview, after which the system updates the payment status right away and reactivates the membership. When should you offer recurring memberships?
When you have an unlimited program that runs indefinitely and you want your yogis to pay a monthly rate, then it would make sense to offer recurring memberships. If you have unlimited programs for a definite period of time, then it would make more sense to only offer regular memberships.
If you have limited programs for a definite period of time, offering class passes would be the wisest decision. Read more about the difference between memberships and class passes.
